Benicar Lawsuit News: Why Are the Effects of Benicar Severe?

A Benicar lawsuit page has recently been launched by Wright & Schulte LLC in an effort to offer consumers with vital information about a very serious gastrointestinal disease also known as acute bowel syndrome known as ulcerative colitis. This debilitating chronic diarrhea is often known simply as “colitis” by sufferers. Symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, as well as a loss of appetite. It can cause significant damage to the body’s colon and intestines. If you or a loved one are suffering from this debilitating disease, it is wise to take note of this essential information.

In recent years, the pharmaceutical companies have paid out approximately $14 billion dollars in claims related to gastrointestinal problems including those that result from taking their drugs and/or medications. These lawsuits have resulted in not only monetary damages but in many cases to expose the harmful side effects caused by these drugs. The main drug involved in these lawsuits is Tagamet, or Tofranil, a common drug used in the treatment of asthma, allergies, and ulcers. These and other similar drugs have been linked to a number of different side effects including heart attacks, strokes, liver damage, short term memory loss, and more. As you can see, even if the medications are taken for the symptoms, they can be very dangerous when taken in combination with other medications.

Now, there is new evidence released in the United States regarding a new type of ulcerative colitis medication being sold over the counter and in over-the-counter form. Benicar lawsuit news reports state that a group of physicians and researchers have discovered another factor in treating ulcerative colitis through the use of a pharmaceutical formulation. It appears that the combination of piperine, or tofranil, an amino acid that is commonly found in herbal remedies and over the counter medicines such as Benicar, may be able to help the sufferer of this disease.

The research was conducted on two groups of patients with mild to moderate forms of ulcerative colitis and looked at the benicar hct (benzodiazepine HCT) as a treatment method. The study found a significant reduction in the number of new heart attacks and other associated symptoms in the patients who were taking the medication compared to those who were not. Of the two groups of patients studied, those diagnosed with “pre-vegitation” had the lowest rate of adverse side effects, while those with “unexplained hypertension” had the next highest rate of adverse effects. The study concluded that these findings could mean that the combination of benicar high blood pressure medicine side effects are ineffective in the treatment of ulcerative colitis and should be further evaluated.

Another recent study from the American Heart Association clinical trials registry called the A Study on Adverse Drug Reactions showed that the safety of the new isomers used in Biogen, Abrasive X-ray Resurfacing and Bioresonance’s newer Perindopril was unknown. However, according to benicar lawsuit news there are certain risks when using such potent ingredients as long term exposure to benicaric acids can cause ulcers. Furthermore, it has been shown in animal studies that these chemicals can also affect the liver. However, the company that manufactures the chemicals, GlaxoSmithKline, is in the process of being taken over by another pharmaceutical company, Actonel. No word on whether or not the company will change the formulas they have developed for these harmful chemicals.

In an article from the Mayo Clinic they report that benicar acid is a common ingredient in OTC medicines like Benicar, Radicchio and Chitosan and that there are about three hundred million adverse reactions reported each year for use with these products. These drugs for gastrointestinal side effects are used for everything from heartburn and acid reflux to depression and arthritis. The problem with these medications is that the patient may be taking them for years with no apparent side effects and then one day they come back. According to the Mayo Clinic, patients should be aware of the risks of these drugs and ask their pharmacist what would be the best way to avoid problems with the medication. If you are currently taking benicar or any of the other popular over the counter drugs for stomach upset and/or gastric-related side effects, talk to your doctor about alternatives.
